How do you injure a zombie?!

October 11th, 2011 | By suzi-kazr in Uncategorized | No Comments »

16 actors dressed as zombies were injured this morning during an accident on the Toronto set of the horror flick “Resident Evil 5” … but the costumes were so gory, officials had a tough time assessing the REAL injuries.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … the actors were on a set that was on wheels … when the set suddenly moved, and the 16 actors plummeted roughly 20 feet down to the ground.

We’re told none of the injuries appear to be life threatening — but some of the actors are being treated for arm, leg and back injuries — and possible broken bones.

All of the actors were transported to a local hospital.

TMZ has learned the Toronto Police Dept. and the Ministry of Labor are investigating the situation.

I just browsed over to the most recent Billboard Top 200 list to see what was on the charts and I found out I must be WAYYY out of the loop because I have no idea who half of the artist are and Journey’s Greatest Hits album is in the top 50? 13. Mumford and Sons

14. Now 38

15. Brad Paisley ( I know this one from my country friends LOL)

Cardio weak?!

June 20th, 2011 | By suzi-kazr in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Wow, this was a tough week. I sweated more than I ever thought was possible and it showed as I fit into an old pair of jeans this weekend! My husband was laughing and asked me if I was okay as I strutted around in them. It wasn’t a big change and the waist line size was the same as the ones I currently wear, but they had become to tight so I put them away in storage. I know it may sound silly, but it was such a huge deal to me because I felt great and I worked hard. I had been feeling good every day as I exited class but this really topped it off.

Cardio week involved alot of kickboxing, squats and jumping jacks. I can tell I am getting stronger as each week the exercises become easier for me to do and I can use a little bit of a heavier weight during kettlebell class.

After one month complete, I have decided I will return for another session and continue my journey into a healthier, happier life. I have more energy than I have for years now, and my metabolism is improving greatly!

I’ll keep you posted on my results as they come.

Week 5……. Let’s Do this!     :)

Sensing The Struggle

June 4th, 2011 | By suzi-kazr in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Today I finished week two of Kosama, and once again, I found out that this class is not only changing my life, but it is changing my attitude toward life.

About half way through the week, I noticed negative thoughts running through my head during class. “I can’t do this, I want to stop, how much longer do we have to do this exercise…”, I didn’t understand why this was all of a sudden happening to me, in such a positive environment. Everyone around me was working so hard, not to mention I was kicking my own butt and doing every exercise as hard as I could.

I was about 20 seconds into one of the exercises, as I was having all these negative thoughts running through my head, when one of the trainers approached me and helped me get back into fully focusing on what I was doing. I am sure they were not aware that I was ready to quit for the day, and just that split second of them coming over to reiterate how to do an exercise properly changed my entire frame of mind.

This week was a lot harder than last, and I couldn’t have made it through without the help of all the trainers and alumni in my class. Alumni are Kosama members that have been through the eight or twelve week course and continued on during the program. What I absolutely love about these people is their passion for Kosama. There have been days when I have came to class early and been approached by several different alumni, asking me what I like about the class and sharing their stories. This is dedication, this is motivation, this is why Kosama is so successful. Not only because the trainers love it, but the members do to.

So, with week two behind me, I have learned this week I AM NOT a quitter. I can’t even explain how I felt when I walked out of class that day. I was strong, I was confident, I DID IT!

Lost and Found

It’s only the first week of my Kosama classes and I already can not begin to thank them enough for helping me change my life.

I went into Kosama not having an idea of what to expect. I think I was one of the many people that were somewhat intimidated by the idea of going to the gym six days a week for a solid two months. I was ready for the challenge when I enrolled in the class, but I did not know exactly what to expect. Will it be like boot camp? Will it be fast circuit stations? Will I be the only one out of shape and not knowing what to do? These were just a few of the questions that were going through my head on my drive to class on the first day.

I was a bit scared but definitely on board for whatever I was ready to face.

As I stated in a previous blog, my first day of class was well over my expectations. I couldn’t believe the one on one time I was getting from the trainers. The different options they gave the entire class to do and how quickly the class went by.

I arrived every morning ready to take on the challenge of the class. I did more squats and lunged than I ever thought I could. I lifted those kettle bells, I punched and kick that bag with all my might and I made it through my first week of Kosama! I am already beginning to feel like a new woman and I have to thank Kosama for one more thing, helping me find something that I believe I left back on the high school soccer field….

DETERMINATION.

Plyo-what?!!

May 24th, 2011 | By suzi-kazr in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Plyo-what?!

What in the world is Plyometric Exercises? I asked myself the same thing Sunday night, wondering what to expect for my first day of Kosama class.

Def: Plyometric exercises train our muscles to reach maximum strength in minimal time. Translated: Plyometric exercises can help you get stronger, faster, and more efficient. Strength + Speed = Power. When we do plyometrics, we are training our neuromuscular system to respond quickly to increased loads. Plyometric exercises fire up your fat burning machine.(courtesy of Kosama.com)

After reading this, I was a bit nervous because I had not done a complete cardio work out since high school. Yes, I have rode bikes, took walks and ran around with my nephews a bit but that is nothing compared to the Plyometric videos I watched on Youtube to try to get an idea of what I was in for!

Thankfully the moment I walked into Kosama, I remembered how helpful and courteous the trainers are.

One of the first things I noticed at my assessment on Saturday morning was how the trainers treated every one of us, regardless of size or shape, exactly the same way. They were smiling, courteous and made you feel completely relaxed given the circumstances LOL.

I noticed this right away in class as well. My favorite part of the class was the fact that there was two trainers, one in the front of the classroom on the stage so you could see the exercise we were doing and one that walked around the class so make sure we were all doing the exercise properly. Kosama trainers also provided us with three different options when doing the exercise. For someone like myself, this was extremely helpful a s I obviously am on a different level than some alumni that were in my class.

So…. A successful day one! And I am fully looking forward to the Upper Body workout class tomorrow!

Of course, I will keep you all posted on my SUCCESS as I continue on my Kosama journey!

Changes are coming!

May 20th, 2011 | By suzi-kazr in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Hello all! I am excited to announce that I will be participating in an 8 week Kosama session which begins on Saturday with my initial assessment. Here they will test things like strength, flexibility and of course, the thing we all dread most, body fat.

This is a huge opportunity for me to change my life. I recently got married, and we all know when we meet that special someone that loves us for who we are, we tend to become a bit more “comfortable” than usual. AND my husband has the sweet tooth of a female which doesn’t help much either LOL.

I have been really good about eathing healthier and find that my body craves fruits and veggies now, instead of the bad things. I take my vitamins daily and drink alot of water. There has only been one thing missing from this equation. WORKING OUT!

Now, with KOSAMA, I have no choice. I will be there 6 days a week, an hour a day, working hard to change my life. I want this for several reasons but what I am looking forward to the most is being able to play soccer with my nephews again. Sure I can play now, but I run out of breath and need to rest real quickly LOL.

Check back here weekly for my newest blog! I will keep you all updated on what I am doing and how much weight, or inches, I have lost!

Wish me luck on Saturday!

And be sure to add KOSAMA CLIVE on facebook!

If I had one person to chill with…
