Plyo-what?!
What in the world is Plyometric Exercises? I asked myself the same thing Sunday night, wondering what to expect for my first day of Kosama class.
Def: Plyometric exercises train our muscles to reach maximum strength in minimal time. Translated: Plyometric exercises can help you get stronger, faster, and more efficient. Strength + Speed = Power. When we do plyometrics, we are training our neuromuscular system to respond quickly to increased loads. After reading this, I was a bit nervous because I had not done a complete cardio work out since high school. Yes, I have rode bikes, took walks and ran around with my nephews a bit but that is nothing compared to the Plyometric videos I watched on Youtube to try to get an idea of what I was in for!
Thankfully the moment I walked into Kosama, I remembered how helpful and courteous the trainers are.
One of the first things I noticed at my assessment on Saturday morning was how the trainers treated every one of us, regardless of size or shape, exactly the same way. They were smiling, courteous and made you feel completely relaxed given the circumstances LOL.
I noticed this right away in class as well. My favorite part of the class was the fact that there was two trainers, one in the front of the classroom on the stage so you could see the exercise we were doing and one that walked around the class so make sure we were all doing the exercise properly. Kosama trainers also provided us with three different options when doing the exercise. For someone like myself, this was extremely helpful a s I obviously am on a different level than some alumni that were in my class.
So…. A successful day one! And I am fully looking forward to the Upper Body workout class tomorrow!
Of course, I will keep you all posted on my SUCCESS as I continue on my Kosama journey!
